Target groups/ final beneficiaries    Group members and communities in Trashiyangtse and eventually visitors to the site

Estimated results

The expected results are;

  • Formation of a unified group for the local communities
  • Development of local infrastructures and employment generation with focus on women empowerment and helping socially marginalized
  • Trained woman and youth artisans
  • Marketing of local products

Main activities

  • Meeting with the ecotourism group members and non-members of the village to determine their role in the project
  • Management plan and by-laws creation for the ecotourism group
  • Sensitization of approved management plan
  • Construction of offering shrine
  • Maintenance of local trekking routes and waste bin placement
  • Construction of resting sheds along the trail
  • Training women and youth in manufacturing of ecotourism products
  • Purchasing of equipment and training materials
