Objectives of the project

• To develop the capacity of the residents of Babesa-Simtokha and Olakha-Changzamtog Demkhongs to engage in local governance;
• To induce Thimphu Thromde Administration to enhance inclusive, participatory, transparent and responsive governance in public service delivery

Target groups/ final beneficiaries    

• 60% of the residents engaging in the project will be women/youth/vulnerable people.
• Residents and Tshogpas of the project area
• Members of the Committee of Concerned Citizens

Estimated results

• 1 Citizen Participatory Audit (CPA) training module/manual
• 1 CPA report on two services
• 1 workshop to present the CPA report
• 1 public hearing report
• 1 project completion report
• 1 workshop report on experience sharing and reactions/actions by the residents of other 5 Demkhongs

Main activities

• Introductory workshop on social accountability tools and their applications
• Production of Citizens Participatory Audit (CPA) training module/manual in collaboration with RAA
• Public Hearing on CPA report
• Preparing and signing of the MoU between the 2 CCCs and Thromde
• Knowledge sharing on the experiences from the CPA
• Production and publication of workshop report
